Someone mentioned it and struck a cord with me. I paint the Golden Gate Bridge, I start at one end and by the time I reach the other end, go back and start again.
Numbers are not as bad as they used to be but they are not where I wanted them to stay, plus they didn’t really tell me but we are adding 1500 more procs (which translates to 187.5 machines, which is not possible, so I think it will be more of 1200, anyway) and since I’m responsible for them, I should have been the first person to:
- Tell
- Ask if they will work
- Show what it is
- Show how it works
Needless to say, I’m still not sure what is going on. Well, I’ve been working pretty much none stop for the last 3 days and keeps going. No coffee, and I have been sleeping well, but it seems like it is not enough. Some people have to organize their time better if they are going to set limits and then throw the blame around and have others work over-over-time.
Another sad thing, the current infrastructure can’t handle what we already have, and they are talking not only adding more systems, but more projects with out looking at what needs to be expanded, build redundancies, etc. We are drowning on an overwhelming need for what we can not provide.
